Kijima Kogen Park

Kijima Kogen Park is an amusement park in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. With plenty of attractions that both children and adults can enjoy, it is a popular tourist destination. The biggest highlight is the wooden roller coaster Jupiter. Built from 60,000 pieces of Douglas fir, the coaster is so large you can recognize it from far away, and it delivers maximum thrills in every sense. It is the most popular attraction and always has long lines. A favorite among children is the 3D Maze Mars, one of the world’s largest fortress-style three-dimensional mazes. With features like the minus-30°C Ice World and a wide variety of events, there is always something exciting to do. Inside the park, you will also find restaurants and food stands selling items such as hamburgers and crepes, making it easy to enjoy the day without bringing anything special. For families with small children, there are nursing rooms and stroller rentals. A kids’ free room is also available to enjoy. There is even a children’s driving school experience where kids can receive a “license” at the end. Access to Kijima Kogen Park is about 35 minutes by bus from Beppu Station.
