Okamotoya Store

Okamotoya Shop is a store in the Myoban Onsen area of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. Visitors can enter Myoban Jigoku for 200 yen. You can walk along a promenade lined with the Myoban Bridge and Yunohana huts where yunohana (mineral bath salts) are produced. With scenic rock-view baths and private reservable baths, it is also a well-known Beppu sightseeing spot. Within this area, Okamotoya Shop sells yunohana and is also famous for its jigoku-mushi pudding that has been enjoyed since 1988. It is recommended to enjoy pudding steamed by hell steam while watching the rising hot spring vapor. There are many other sweet treats such as the “Jigoku Parfait,” jigoku-mushi pudding soft-serve, and yunohana manju. Popular savory items include onsen egg udon made with eggs steamed by hell steam, and a jigoku-steamed egg sandwich packed with eggs. Oita specialty toriten is also available, making this a popular gourmet spot where visitors can satisfy both appetite and spirit. It is a shop packed with the charm of Myoban Onsen. Access to Okamotoya Shop is about a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Beppu Station.
