Experience details
Afterward, a 30-minute monk-guided tour through the temple grounds will offer insight into its rich history and connection to Japan’s Imperial family. The tour offers a rare opportunity to access areas usually closed to the public, including an exclusive kumikō (incense ceremony) in a beautifully preserved Japanese-style room adorned with sliding door paintings.

After this unique and meditative experience, the tour concludes with a ceremonial offering of incense at the temple’s main hall, leaving you with a sense of tranquility and a deeper connection to the temple’s spiritual essence.
