Hakoneyuryo
Hakone Yuryo is a day-use hot spring facility offering baths sourced from “Tonosawa Onsen,” one of the Hakone Seven Hot Springs. The water is an alkaline simple hot spring known for its gentle feel and is popular as a “beauty bath,” also said to help with sensitivity to cold and fatigue recovery. The facility is designed with a warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere, inspired by a rustic satoyama village and emphasizing the charm of Japanese aesthetics. The large public bath includes areas such as “Miharashi-yu,” “Iwa-buro,” and “Shigaraki-buro,” where you can relax while feeling close to Hakone’s nature. It also boasts 19 private open-air baths—among the largest in the Tokyo metropolitan area—and you can use only the private baths if you prefer. Dining features irori hearth cooking, with menus such as salt-grilled fish and charcoal-grilled items, along with rice bowls, curry, udon, and soba. Access: a free shuttle bus takes about 3 minutes from Hakone-Yumoto Station, running every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes on weekends.
