Tae no Yu - Nyuto Onsenkyo
Nyuto Onsenkyo Taenoyu is one of the seven hot spring inns of Nyuto Onsenkyo, guided by the slogan "We want to create an inn where women working in the city can heal both mind and body in hot springs, and offer warm hospitality that gently encourages them so they can do their best again." Taenoyu’s signature recommendation is its two hot springs with different mineral qualities, named "Kinzuyu" (Golden Bath) and "Ginzuyu" (Silver Bath). Ginzuyu is clear and colorless, with a smooth, mildly neutral and gentle water that is especially effective for warming the body. It is said to help prevent chills after bathing and, by raising body temperature, may support improved immunity. It is recommended for small children, people with sensitive skin, and anyone who is not comfortable with strong hot springs. Kinzuyu can change color depending on weather and oxidation, but it is generally a cloudy, acidic hot spring. With a refreshing feel on the skin, it is said to help with skin concerns. After soaking, a heartwarming meal completes the experience. Seasonal local ingredients are served as Akita-style cuisine: spring mountain vegetables, lively river fish raised in clear streams in summer, autumn mushrooms, and winter hatahata (sandfish) caught in the Sea of Japan. A particularly popular dish is Taenoyu’s mushroom soup (a complimentary hospitality dish). Made with mushrooms harvested in autumn and preserved in salt, combined with kombu and bonito broth and carefully degreased pork belly, it delivers an elegant, delicate, yet satisfying flavor. For access, get off at the "Taenoyu Onsen-mae" stop on a route bus and walk 1 minute.
