Sennentei
Sennentei is a venerable ryokan founded in 1900 (Meiji 33) with over 120 years of history, located on a small island-like promontory in Lake Togo. It is said that the first proprietor found a hot spring source in the lake, which led to the inn’s founding. From guest rooms and open-air baths, you can enjoy a prime view of Lake Togo—one of the “San’in Eight Scenic Views.” The onsen is a continuously used source-fed spring from the original discovery, and the same source can be enjoyed in the large bath, open-air bath, and private open-air bath. Cuisine highlights include Tottori’s signature beef and Matsuba crab. The branded “Tottori Wagyu Oleic 55” is known for tender texture and refined flavor. Seafood includes Matsuba crab and white squid landed at Sakaiminato, served in many styles such as ceramic-plate grilling, steaming, grilling, hot pot, and sashimi (Matsuba crab is winter-limited). Access: by car, about 1 hour 10 minutes from Yubara IC (Yonago Expressway) via Route 313, or about 1 hour 20 minutes from Innosho IC (Chugoku Expressway) via Route 179. By train, it’s about 10 minutes by taxi from JR San’in Main Line “Kurayoshi Station,” and a shuttle bus is available from Kurayoshi Station.
