koubaitei
Kobaitei is a hot spring ryokan in Kotohira Town with two types of hot spring sources, offering a total of 15 kinds of baths across three bathing areas for an enjoyable bath-hopping experience. You can soak in many different bath styles, from large public baths and open-air baths to private open-air baths. Popular highlights include the flower-floating “Hana Roten” bath favored by women, and a citrus-filled “Kame-buro” (jar bath). Guest rooms are available in various types such as Japanese-style, Western-style, Japanese-Western, and special rooms. In its auberge-style dining restaurant, you can savor seasonal flavors to the fullest. Breakfast is also served in an open-kitchen style, featuring about 60 mostly Japanese dishes to choose from. You can also spend relaxed time in a tea-room-like space suitable for hosting dances. The ryokan displays items from kabuki actors who appeared in Konpira Kabuki, and because it assumes guests will climb Konpira-san, it is also known for offering a wide variety of massage services. Access: about a 5-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station; if reserved, a shuttle bus is available.
