Seiryu So
Seiryuso is a nature-rich inn facing the Misasa River, notable for having three separate hot spring sources—an exceptionally abundant supply. There are eight bath areas in total, and three can be reserved for private use, letting you enjoy multiple bathing experiences in one place. As is typical in Misasa Onsen, you can do therapeutic use not only by bathing but also by drinking and inhaling. Drinking the onsen water is said to be especially beneficial for chronic digestive issues, gallbladder/gallstones, neuralgia/muscle pain, constipation, gastritis, gout, and more. It is described as most effective to drink it 30 minutes before meals. However, those with liver weakness, high blood pressure, or a tendency toward overall swelling are advised to avoid drinking and instead focus on bathing therapy. Access: by car, from Innosho IC (Chugoku Expressway) via Route 179. By train, get off at JR San’in Main Line “Kurayoshi Station,” with a free shuttle bus available (reservation required by the day before). Highway buses also run from Osaka to Kurayoshi Station (approx. 3.5–4 hours). From Tottori Airport, there is a limousine bus bound for Misasa Onsen (about 1 hour).
