MIZUKI SHIGERU MUSEUM

The Mizuki Shigeru Museum is a must-visit for manga/anime fans, covering the life and work of Shigeru Mizuki, best known for GeGeGe no Kitaro. Stepping inside feels like entering another world. While many immediately associate Mizuki with yokai manga, he also produced works on war, fantasy, and other themes, and the museum lets you immerse yourself in that broader creative universe. One particularly engaging exhibit for adults is “Mizuki Shigeru’s Studio,” where you can see the roots of his craft. It’s enjoyable for both children and adults, each from their own perspective. The museum shop offers exclusive items available only here—worth checking. Access: by train, take the JR Sakai Line from Yonago Station to Sakaiminato Station (about 45 minutes), then walk about 8 minutes via Mizuki Shigeru Road. JR Sakai Line stations have GeGeGe character nicknames too—take a look. By car: from Yonago IC (Yonago Expressway), take Route 431 for about 40 minutes.
