Yunogo Onsen Katsuragi

Yunogo Onsen Katsuragi is a “Japanese-modern” style inn in Yunogo Onsen, popular exactly for that refined design. Rooms include 8–10 tatami Japanese-style rooms plus one Japanese-Western room limited to one group per day. The hot spring is a sodium-calcium chloride spring, and there is also a private open-air bath designed by the renowned Osaka design collective “graf.” The private bath is large enough for up to 4 people, making it popular with couples and families. Facilities are very well equipped: a hidden-bar “Umeshu Bar” where you can enjoy 30–40 kinds of plum wine from around Japan, plus an esthetic salon, café, and even a yoga studio. Yoga lessons are held almost daily except Mondays, and yoga mats can be rented, so beginners can join comfortably. For meals, the standout is the wagyu stone-grilled steak—almost everyone who tries it rates it highly. There are also seasonal tempura, hot pots with collagen balls, and even Vietnamese dishes, with an extremely wide variety. With only 28 rooms total, it’s recommended for those who want to stay in a calm atmosphere. Note: it’s a three-story building without an elevator, so if stairs are difficult for you, contact the inn directly to confirm whether you can stay comfortably.
