Mt.Washu
Washuzan is one of Okayama Prefecture’s top scenic spots, and there is an observation deck at the summit (elevation 133 m). While the altitude may sound low, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Seto Inland Sea including the Seto Ohashi Bridge. Access is easy—about 15 minutes by bus from the station—and the path from the entrance up to the summit observation deck is maintained as a promenade, making it safe even for small children and seniors. The panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea islands spread between Honshu and Shikoku, along with the Seto Ohashi Bridge, is beautiful day and night, so it’s easy to fit into a sightseeing schedule at any time. The biggest highlight is being able to see the Seto Ohashi Bridge head-on; photos with the bridge centered and the vivid blue sea behind it are very popular on social media. No special equipment is needed—an easy hike that also helps you work off overeating or travel fatigue. There is also a free parking lot that can accommodate 366 cars, so check the location in advance before heading there.
