Lamune Onsen

Ramune Onsen-kan is a hot spring facility within Nagayu Onsen in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture. Nagayu Onsen itself is famous as one of the world’s leading carbonated hot spring areas. When you enter the bath, natural bubbles wrap around your body so fully that your skin can appear to change color, making it a unique natural carbonated onsen experience. The stylish building appears suddenly in the middle of nature and includes not only hot springs but also an art museum. The baths include a mild 32°C lukewarm pool and a 42°C cloudy hot spring, along with showers, a sauna, and open-air baths. Considering the hot spring benefits, it is recommended not to rinse off with a shower after soaking, and instead leave the minerals on your skin when you exit. Private family baths are also available, making it enjoyable for both children and adults. The characters drawn by Shinbo Minami are also soothing and memorable. There is also a drinking fountain where you can try the hot spring water. The shop sells Ramune Onsen cider as well, allowing you to enjoy a full “ramune” experience alongside the onsen. Access to Ramune Onsen-kan is about 60 minutes from Oita City via Prefectural Route 412. The surrounding area is also a hot spring town, with various baths, a river, and scenic, atmospheric views.
