Karuizawa Marriott Hotel
Karuizawa Marriott Hotel is an international hotel operated by Marriott International, a high-end brand whose group includes Sheraton and Westin. It offers multiple stay styles across the Main Wing, North Wing, and dog-friendly cottages. Notably, the North Wing—opened in 2017—includes luxurious rooms with private open-air baths, allowing you to bathe anytime (24 hours) in privacy; these rooms are popular despite the higher price. A 24-hour fitness gym is available for guests, but it is currently temporarily closed (per the text). When it reopens, it would be ideal for travelers who want to offset big meals or stay active during multi-night stays. Free parking is available, which is reassuring for drivers. If you’re using public transport, the hotel is a bit far from the station, so the free shuttle bus is recommended. The shuttle runs between the hotel, the ski area, and Karuizawa Station, but trips that go via the ski area are limited. It runs on a fixed timetable, so check in advance.
