Sanuki Children's Country

Sanuki Kodomo-no-Kuni is Kagawa Prefecture’s only large-scale children’s center, located in Konan-cho, Takamatsu City. It sits next to Takamatsu Airport’s runway, so you can watch planes take off and land up close. There are plenty of indoor play spaces and facilities including a theater, planetarium, science workshop, art workshop, and music workshop. The expansive outdoor grounds include lawns, large play equipment, and a small concrete stream that’s great for summer water play. At the Cycle Center, you can rent bicycles to ride the cycling course, including unusual bikes from around the world. There is also a displayed YS-11 aircraft you can enter all the way to the cockpit, and a displayed Kotoden train car you can also go inside. Many large children’s events are held here throughout the year. There’s also a cafe corner for food and drinks, and it’s said to be satisfying enough that kids could play all day and still not get bored. Access is about 40 minutes by car from JR Takamatsu Station.
