Hachiban Ramen (Fukui Station Branch) is a ramen shop in Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture. It is a ramen chain with its main store in Ishikawa Prefecture, and the Fukui Station branch is located inside the shopping center Prism Fukui within Fukui Station. Its catchphrases are ‘Kenko Atoshi’ and ‘Nandeyaro 8-ban,’ and it’s a beloved ramen brand among Hokuriku locals. It has also expanded nationwide and has stores overseas. In the three Hokuriku prefectures, it is a standard ramen choice, and a classic signature is the fish cake ‘Hachikama’—a kamaboko shaped with an ‘8’ motif—topping the bowl instead of a typical naruto slice. The staple menu item is vegetable ramen, and it’s known for consistently good taste across the menu. The noodles are thick and curly, and you can choose from flavors such as miso, salt, soy sauce, tonkotsu, and butter. At the Fukui Station branch, many visitors—especially tourists using the station—come specifically to eat Hachiban Ramen.
