SKIJAM

Ski Jam Katsuyama is one of the largest ski resorts in western Japan. With great snow quality and abundant snowfall, the slopes are divided into three areas for beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers. There’s also one of Japan’s largest kids’ parks, where children can ride a moving belt uphill and enjoy sledding, natural snow slides, snowboarding, and skiing. For adults, the resort boasts a wide variety of courses that even advanced riders will appreciate, including mogul runs, a course with a maximum slope of 37 degrees, and long forest-road courses. It’s designed for year-round fun as well—summer activities include paragliding, pools, a forest park, Dinosaur Land, and Segway rides. At Wanpaku Dinosaur Land, you can enjoy dinosaur-themed athletics that are fun for both kids and adults. To get to Ski Jam Katsuyama, it’s about a 20-minute drive from the Chubu-Jukan Expressway "Katsuyama IC." Parking is free, but you’ll need to pay the Hoeiji-yama Toll Road fee and a snow-removal cooperation fee (1,350 yen for standard cars).
