Fuji-Q Highland
Fuji-Q Highland is a major amusement park within a resort area spread across the foothills of Mt. Fuji and is one of Japan’s leading theme parks. It draws crowds daily, with many visitors coming specifically for attractions that claim “world’s best.” Most attractions are generally aimed at upper elementary school age and above. For younger children, the park also includes dedicated areas such as “Thomas Land” and the “Lisa and Gaspard” themed town, making it enjoyable for a wide range of ages. For very popular attractions, long lines are often unavoidable; there are special passes that allow early entry before opening, which can be used strategically. Access to Fuji-Q Highland: by car, exit the Chuo Expressway at Kawaguchiko IC (via Otsuki JCT) and it’s right nearby. Alternatively, exit the Tomei Expressway at Gotemba IC and proceed via National Route 138; or take the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road from Subashiri IC and exit at Fujiyoshida IC, then it’s right nearby. By train, it’s about 110 minutes from Shinjuku; from the Tokyo area take the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki Station, transfer to the Fujikyu Railway, and ride about 50 minutes to Fuji-Q Highland Station. By bus, direct buses from many areas are convenient: about 100 minutes from Busta Shinjuku, about 140 minutes via Shibuya Mark City and Futakotamagawa, about 120 minutes from Tokyo Station Yaesu Exit, Tokyo Dome Hotel, Sunshine Prince Hotel / Ikebukuro Station, plus routes from Shonan, Haneda Airport / Shinagawa, Yokohama, Chiba, Saitama, Narita Airport, Shizuoka, Gifu, Nagoya, Osaka, and more. There is also a bus terminal inside the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa parking area next to the park, useful for access from Shinjuku/Tokyo, Yokohama (Yokohama Station / Center Kita / Tama-Plaza), Kyoto/Osaka, Mishima, and Shin-Fuji, and additional highway buses from Shizuoka, Numazu, and others.
