TEPPAN・KU‐YA
Teppan Ku-ya is a teppanyaki restaurant where you can enjoy iron-plate grilled dishes using ingredients from the Chugoku region. Although teppanyaki often has an expensive image, this place is priced in a wallet-friendly range—yet still receives very high reviews for taste. The menu is broad, ranging from steak and yakisoba to bread and desserts. With both counter and table seating, it’s easy to enter whether you’re alone or in a group, and with advance reservation it can also be rented out for private parties. Interestingly, it originally started as a takoyaki shop, and even now the most popular menu item is said to be takoyaki. Because the dishes are cooked right in front of you, you can enjoy the food through sight and sound as well. They are also particular about wine, offering selections chosen by a wine sommelier to match the food—especially recommended for wine lovers. It’s in a great location, about a 5-minute walk from JR Okayama Station, so consider stopping by when you’re in Okayama.
