Kumamon Square

Kumamon Square is the activity base of Kumamon, Kumamoto Prefecture’s famous mascot character. Kumamon was created alongside the full opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen and works hard as Kumamoto Prefecture’s “sales manager.” Kumamon actually appears here, and you can check the schedule to see when he will be in. There is also the “Kumamon Sales Manager Office,” where you may be able to see Kumamon at work if you check the in-room schedule. Besides showcasing Kumamon’s activities and selling original Kumamon goods, you can also get information about Kumamoto sightseeing and local specialties. The interaction area includes a stage where Kumamon performs. Trophies and commendations are displayed, letting you learn about Kumamon’s achievements.
