Kitahama alley
Kitahama Alley is a multi-purpose complex in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, created by repurposing historic warehouse buildings from the early Showa period. These retro-style warehouses are located along the seaside, creating a charming and atmospheric space with the ocean as a scenic backdrop. The area is home to a variety of trendy establishments, including art galleries, boutiques, café-restaurants, lifestyle shops, and specialty quiche stores. On weekends, the area becomes especially lively as many young visitors gather and events are frequently held. Spending time relaxing at a second-floor café while gazing out at the sea is also highly recommended. In recent years, Kitahama Alley has expanded to include accommodation and wedding services, and the lineup of shops continues to evolve. Popular spots include Rag Style, an Asian goods store filled with colorful and exotic items in a spacious interior, and 206 TSU MA MU, where an impressive selection of freshly made quiches is available daily for dine-in or takeaway. The area is filled with eye-catching, stylish displays, making it particularly popular among younger generations. Kitahama Alley is about a 12-minute walk from JR Takamatsu Station toward the former Uko National Route Ferry Terminal, and the seaside route offers pleasant views along the way, making the walk itself part of the sightseeing experience.
