Sakaeda

Sakaeda is a udon shop in Takamatsu City—this entry refers to the main (honten) location. Among the many Sanuki udon shops, Sakaeda is often considered a “baseline” style, and many people say it’s their No. 1. It opens as early as 5 a.m., so many come for udon breakfast. Tourists often visit on weekdays and use rental bicycles to efficiently tour shops like Sakaeda. Locals tend to think of it as a “stop-by during work” udon shop, so it’s closed on weekends; the Minami-Shinmachi and Kasuga branches are open on weekends. Access is about a 15-minute walk from Kotoden Kawaramachi Station.
