Ikkaku Takamatsustore

Ikkaku Takamatsu Branch is the Takamatsu location of a famous bone-in chicken specialty restaurant whose main shop is in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture. Located in the city center, it’s so addictive that many business travelers make a point to stop by, thanks to its spicy, juicy bone-in chicken. The chain has expanded to places like Osaka and Yokohama, and there are three shops in Takamatsu. All tend to have lines during peak times, so visiting at off hours is recommended. You can choose between “oyadori” (mature chicken) and “hinadori” (young chicken) according to preference. Other menu items include chicken rice, rice balls, and egg tofu, but side dishes often sell out early, so be cautious. Each chicken order comes with raw cabbage, and the most popular combination is chicken + cabbage + beer. The restaurant became nationally famous after being ranked No. 1 in a nationwide broadcast “best souvenir” feature. While there are other bone-in chicken shops, Ikkaku is considered outstandingly delicious. Access: about 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot from JR Takamatsu Station, and about a 10-minute walk from Kotoden Kawaramachi Station.
