道後ハイカラ通り

Dogo Haikara Dori is an L-shaped covered arcade shopping street that runs from the Iyotetsu city tram “”Dogo Onsen Station”” to in front of Dogo Onsen Honkan. Its official name is Dogo Shopping Street, but it is widely known by the nickname “”Dogo Haikara Dori.”” Stretching about 250 meters, it is lined with around 60 shops. Many inns in Dogo lend colorful yukata, so strolling the arcade in a bright yukata while sampling takeout snacks is part of the fun. Suggested stops include the handmade-tart shop “”Rokujiyā Dogo Store”” for ice monaka, and “”10FACTORY Dogo Store”” for gelato made from stylishly packaged citrus products—perfect for cooling down after a soak. At the souvenir shop “”Himeya,”” visitors can make their own mikan-flavored cotton candy. The stained-glass-style interior of “”Iro-ri Samurai Dining”” is eye-catching, and its “”Irori Temari Sushi Lunch”” is highly photogenic. For souvenirs, the Imabari towel shop “”Iori”” sells a “”tsubaki”” face towel featuring camellia, Matsuyama’s city flower.
