Marriott Fuji Lake Yamanaka
Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka is a resort hotel operated by the global Marriott group and is one of the representative resorts around Lake Yamanaka. There are nine room types to choose from: Superior Twin or King, Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-Western Twin or King, Premium rooms with private onsen, and Executive Suites. Although run by an American hotel group, it thoughtfully offers twin-bed options even for suites to match Japanese preferences. Rooms across categories are simple, chic, and modern—ideal for a calm, relaxing stay. Dining is also a highlight, especially the grill and smoked menus. You can enjoy grilled or smoked local ingredients such as Kai salmon, Mt. Fuji salmon, and game meats like horse and deer. The smoking isn’t limited to meat and fish—there are also smoked eggs and even tofu. Pairing these dishes with local Yamanashi wine is highly recommended. The large public bath features “Yamanakako Onsen,” an alkaline hot spring often called a ‘beauty’ or ‘skin-beautifying’ bath. Combine it with the sauna to unwind from daily stress. Access: by car, about 15 minutes (about 10 km) from Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road “Yamanakako IC” via Prefectural Route 729 and Route 413; or about 50 minutes (about 30 km) from Tomei Expressway “Gotemba IC” via Routes 138 and 413. By highway bus, take a bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal or Tokyo Station and get off at “Yamanakako (Asahigaoka).” By train, transfer at JR Chuo Main Line “Otsuki Station” to the Fujikyu Railway (~50 min) and get off at “Fujisan Station,” then take a bus to “Yamanakako (Asahigaoka).” A shuttle bus runs from Asahigaoka to the hotel (reservation required at least 2 days in advance).
