Kawaguchiko Mt. Fuji Panorama Ropeway

The Kawaguchiko Fuji Panorama Ropeway is a ropeway where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji together with a panoramic vista over Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Fuji Five Lakes. You ride from Kawaguchiko Lakeside Station at an elevation of 856 m up to Fujimidai Station at 1,075 m. The ride takes about 3 minutes. This iconic, grand scenery draws many visitors from Japan and abroad. Pets are allowed (large dogs are not permitted). Note that there are steps at both stations: 64 steps at the lakeside station and 112 steps at the Fujimidai station. Access to the ropeway: by car from the Tokyo area, take the Chuo Expressway to “Fujiyoshida Kawaguchiko IC” (about 80 minutes to the IC), then about 15 minutes from there. From Osaka/Nagoya, take the Meishin/Tomei route to “Komaki IC,” then via the Chuo Expressway (about 3 hours) and exit at “Ichinomiya-Misaka IC,” then about 40 minutes via Route 137. By bus, highway buses from Shinjuku and Tokyo take about 2 hours 20 minutes, and there are also buses from Saitama, Nagoya, Osaka, and other areas. By train, take JR Chuo Line to Otsuki Station, transfer to Fujikyu Railway, and reach Kawaguchiko Station in about 1 hour from Otsuki; then walk about 15 minutes. From Osaka/Nagoya, you can also reach via JR Gotemba/Mishima/Shin-Fuji stations and transfer to Fujikyu bus about 2 hours to Kawaguchiko Station, then walk about 15 minutes.
