Sun Station Terrace Okayama is a shopping center located inside JR Okayama Station, underground. It’s extremely convenient, with a wide variety of shops across many categories—fashion, small goods, foods, restaurants, and cafés. Because it can be reached immediately after exiting the station gates, it’s easy to use. There are many parking lots underground and nearby, so it’s also frequently used by those arriving by car. JR Okayama Station is one of the busiest stations in Okayama Prefecture and a stop on the Sanyo Shinkansen, so it’s especially recommended for travelers waiting for the Shinkansen after sightseeing or business trips. It’s a great place to buy Okayama souvenirs even at the last minute: for example, there are many varieties of the standard Okayama souvenir “kibi dango,” including chocolate kibi dango and “ankibi” filled with sweet bean paste.
