Busshozan Onsen Tenpeiyu
Busshozan Onsen Tenpyo-yu is a hot spring facility in Busshozan-cho, Takamatsu City. It’s a bicarbonate (baking-soda) spring known as a “beauty bath,” and in the carbonated bath, tiny bubbles cling to your skin. It’s praised for leaving your skin smooth and for keeping you warm even after bathing. The building is stylish and refined, with a clean and uncluttered interior that feels very sanitary. Nearby is Honen-ji Temple, and while the area retains many historic structures, the modern design of Tenpyo-yu blends well with the surroundings. The bathing area includes an indoor bath and an open-air bath arranged around a courtyard, letting you soak in nature. The indoor bath can also be opened up with full glass panels depending on the season, creating an open-air feel. There’s also a small ganbanyoku (stone sauna) area to warm your body further. In the clean, simple rest area, you can enjoy light meals like udon, plus shaved ice and coffee milk. Another fun point is the used paperback books sold for 100 yen. Access is about a 10-minute walk from Kotoden Busshozan Station, and it’s often used by people stopping by before heading home via Takamatsu Airport.
