Naruko Hotel

Naruko Hotel is a long-established hot spring ryokan with over 140 years of history. Preserving the tradition of therapeutic bathing, it has three hot spring sources: sulfur-salt spring, sulfate spring, and sodium chloride spring. A distinctive feature is that the water color changes depending on temperature and humidity—ranging from milky white to an olive-green hue. The facility includes spacious open-air baths, a barrel-style open-air bath, and large communal baths, allowing you to enjoy free-flowing (kakenagashi) hot springs in different ways. Private baths are also available; if you reserve at the front desk on the day of your stay, you can soak without worry with family or friends. The water is thick and silky like a beauty serum and is famous as a “beauty bath,” and it is also said to help with gynecological issues, rheumatism, and neuralgia. There are 125 guest rooms in total across the Aoba Wing and the Momiji Wing. The Momiji Wing features rare rooms with an open-air footbath, popular for a luxurious experience. The Aoba Wing also offers a range of room types including Japanese-style, Western-style, and Japanese-Western rooms. From JR “Sendai Station,” the Miyakoh Bus express “Sendai–Naruko Line” runs daily and takes about 1 hour 25 minutes. Naruko Onsen also has public baths, and enjoying a hot-spring crawl and strolling the onsen town can further enrich your trip.
