National Bihoku Hillside Park



This is a national park where many plants and flowers are on display. Many events are held and can be enjoyed throughout the day when the weather is nice. The SL locomotive runs a loop around the park, so families can fully enjoy the park. Although the main attraction is flowers, the Jabu Jabu Pond is a popular place for families to play with water during the summer. Illumination lights are illuminated at night near the entrance, so it is perfectly safe to visit in the evening or at night to see a different side of the park.

Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery



This is a factory where visitors can observe the wine making process. Visitors can taste freshly made wine, which is unique to the factory, and can also sample grape juice for children. Sandankyo

Teishakyo Gorge

Teishakyo Gorge is an 18-km-long valley located in the center of the Chugoku Mountains. It is a national park spreading over a karst plateau with a huge natural bridge, "called Onhashi (male bridge) ", which was formed by the erosive action of clear water. It is also known as a major scenic spot, and visitors can enjoy nature on a sightseeing boat. It tends to be cooler in the summer, making it a popular summer resort and tourist destination. Sera Winery



Sera Winery is a factory where wine is produced using grapes grown in the Sera Plateau. As with the Miyoshi Winery mentioned above, wine tastings are available, and the cellar can also be toured. The restaurant attached to the winery serves a wide variety of dishes that go well with wine, including Jingisukan, curry, omelette rice, and other Western-style dishes that go well with wine. Ueno Park



This park has the same name, which is different from Ueno Park in Tokyo. Known for its cherry blossoms, the park is crowded with cherry blossom-viewing visitors in spring. Even if you visit late in the evening, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night because of the rotating stalls. After dark, the park is illuminated, so you can fully enjoy a different scenery than during the day. The site is very large and you can prepare a rug and have a meal, but you need to prepare early because many people use the site on weekends.

Kagura Monzen Hot Spring Village



It is a hot-spring village located in the northern part of Aki Takata City. Although not that large in scale, a kagura dome with a capacity of 2,000 people has been constructed, and kagura performances are held more than 150 days a year. Iwaya Temple



Iwaya Temple is a temple of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. The gate is designated as a National Important Cultural Property, and inside there is a seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai and his dependents, the Twelve Divine Generals. Iwaya Temple is a relatively new temple, built in 1873, and remains in a very beautiful condition. Tours and other visits are free, but visitors are welcome to contact the temple in advance to make reservations for explanatory guides and other services. It is not accessible by public transportation, so you will need a car to visit.

Flower village Kamunosato

This is a new farm opened in 2009, and specializes in displaying shiba-zakura and nemophila. The park is such a famous tourist attraction that TV commercials are sometimes aired, and even children can enjoy the park.

This hall provides information about the nearby "Hachidahara Dam ". Lake Ashida (Hachidahara Dam)



Lake Ashida is also known as "Hachidahara Dam ".
