Hinaga Island



It is a remote island in Mikawa Bay that is said to be an octopus and pufferfish island. It is a popular island that can be reached by a 15-minute ride on the Chita Peninsula Ferry, making it easy to go sightseeing.
Heidi's swing in the photo is famous, and is a must-see spot when you come to this island for sightseeing. The island itself offers many things to enjoy, including a large octopus sculpture and dolphin petting zoo.

Museum Meiji Village



This museum is themed on the Meiji Period, and has an area of 1,000,000 m2 and is a sub venue for the World Cosplay Summit in summer. It has 11 buildings that are important cultural properties, and visitors are free to tour them. It is a hole-in-the-wall spot where you can feel as if you have time-traveled back to a retro era.

Kinshachi Alley



Kinshachi Yokocho is a street where you can enjoy eating Nagoya-meshi (Nagoya delicacies), a condensed version of Nagoya.

Sasajima (island)



Shinoshima, the island of sea bream and puffer fish, is a remote island in Mikawa Bay.
The entire island is designated as Mikawa Bay National Park, and much nature remains. The island can be reached by boat from Kawawa Port in 25 minutes, making it an easy place to visit. Bicycle rentals are available, and a bicycle tour around the island is recommended. From the Kira Kira Kira Observatory, you can see even more clearly the small island of Matsushima, and the sunset on Matsushima is beautiful.

The seafood is delicious!



The seafood is especially delicious, including a specialty of Shinoshima called "Nama Shirasu-don" (raw baby sardines on rice). You can enjoy eating it for lunch, or stay overnight and enjoy the seafood all day long. In summer, you can go swimming in the beautiful sea at the bathing beach.

Saku Island (Okinawa)



Sakushima, an island of contemporary art, is decorated with 24 art objects throughout the island.
The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes, and there is a stamp rally that takes visitors around art objects on the island, called the Sakushima Art Picnic, which takes them around the entire island.
There are many stylish cafes along the way, so it is recommended to take a break while going around. There are no traffic lights or convenience stores on the island, so you can spend your time at leisure.

Fenglaiji Mountain



This 15-million-year-old volcano provides a close look at exposed rocky mountains such as rhyolite.
The entire mountain is inhabited by natural monuments and other animals, including konohaku (a species of owl) and rare plants. The Horai-ji Temple is located halfway up the mountain after climbing 1,425 stone steps. It is a hidden spot with many attractions, including an 800-year-old cedar umbrella tree, designated as a national natural treasure.

Climbing the mountain gives me a sense of accomplishment.



The stone steps are tough, but the view is overwhelming as you climb them. You can easily enjoy nature while feeling the sense of unexplored nature scattered throughout the area. It takes about one hour to reach the top by foot, so be prepared for the climb.
There is also Yutani Onsen hot spring nearby, so it is recommended to take a bath on the way home.
